We're six blocks from the water on Mission Avenue, in a building with concrete floors and big windows that let the morning light in. The space smells like metal and clean rubber, never that scrubbed-down chemical thing. You'll hear weights settling and people talking between sets, never silence and never a club. Can I drop in without a membership?+

Yes. Day and two-day passes are quick and easy, no contract or sign-up runaround. Good for travelers and anyone testing us out.

How heavy do the dumbbells go?+

Up to 120 pounds, with plenty of plates for the machines. The equipment is new and well maintained.

I'm not a hardcore lifter. Will I feel out of place?+

No. The atmosphere here is calm and the crowd is mixed, from serious strength folks to people easing back in. Nobody's performing for anyone.

Is the owner usually around?+

Most days, yes. He checks in mid-set, points you to gear if you need it, and stays out of your way otherwise.

Where exactly are you?+

Right in the middle of Oceanside on Mission Avenue, about six blocks from the beach. Easy to find and easy to park near.
